TEACHER OF SOCIAL SCIENCES (Maternity Cover) - 0.8 FTE
The Sandon School is an over-subscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive of 1280 students with an excellent reputation in the local area. We have superb facilities and view ourselves as an innovative teaching and learning community. The school is situated close to the A12 on the east side of Chelmsford within easy reach of Chelmsford, Colchester, Southend and Brentwood and has good public transport links.
We require from December 2024 a creative, inspirational and innovative teacher of Social Sciences. The ability to teach Business Studies and Economics is desirable. The Social Sciences department consists of a range of subjects: Business, Economics, Law, Criminology, Health & Social Care, Sociology, Computer Science and IT. The department prides itself on the excellent relationships built with students and, as a result of this, Social Sciences is a very popular department across the school. The department has excellent facilities and is a strong and supportive team that achieves consistently good results The Social Sciences Team has its own staff work room. Each of the bright classrooms contains interactive whiteboards and data projectors.
The successful candidate will also have a desire to develop and use ICT in their teaching and they will be issued with a laptop computer to support this aim. In addition, any successful candidate should be keen to develop and use a wide variety of teaching and learning styles.
